How To Be A Fearless Muslim Woman
“I never put fear as a barrier for me. Always, I remember when you become very honest with God, He will show you your path.” Dr. Aisha Bin Bishr
Who is Dr. Aisha?
Dr. Aisha Bin Bishr is a fearless woman. Allow me to explain: I want you to stop and think back to a time somebody you met for the first time left you with a feeling of awe and admiration because they might have said something no one else was brave enough to say.
They might have walked into a room and you felt a surge of new energy, and your spirits were immediately lifted, or they said something wise that you needed to hear that day. The type of people whose aura isn’t limited to themselves, but it takes a room to fill.
When people like Dr. Aisha speak, the room listens intently.
As the Director General of Smart Dubai; the office in charge of seeing Dubai become the happiest city on Earth by using technology and innovation, you must be a leader that sees what most do not see. A mind that designs a future for generations to come, and doing so by acknowledging that you must possess a fearless heart ready to lead change and conquer doubts.
Dubai And The Pursuit Of Happiness:
So what does being fearless have to do with happiness?
It takes a brave person to choose to be happy. Disagree, or perhaps fail to see the link? Well, happiness is not only a state, but it is also a choice. Life has a way to throw you more than a few curve balls, and everyday you wake up, you choose to face your fears or you choose to grow them.
When Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, appointed the World’s first Minister of Happiness, he also announced his vision of leading Dubai to becoming the happiest city in the World. Around the same time period, Dr. Aisha was also appointed from Assistant Director General to Director General of Smart Dubai to usher Dubai into its new identity.
Dr. Aisha is my role model for what it means to be a Muslim woman and lead the way; and I am sure after this video, she might be yours too.
Here’s an interview that taught me how powerful it is to be a woman.
